\\\ MENU ARTISTIQUE ///

Tyxna - Fresque Mapping - Street Art Festival Rillieux
By mosquitomassala | On 05/12/2022
Viktor Furiani & Samvida Nanda of the Mosquito Massala had the pleasure to meet the superb collective of TYXNA
in the context of designing a technical solution for Mapping and Projection for the inauguration event of their Fresque titled "La Semeuse" for the
Street Art Festival Rillieux 2022
with Spacejunk Lyon
"Spacejunk Lyon est aussi organisateur du Street Art Fest Rillieux depuis 2021. Ce projet consiste à mettre en place une résidence artistique ainsi que la conception et l’organisation d’un parcours et d’un festival de street art. Ces projets s’inscrivant dans une vaste dynamique de transformation et de valorisation du territoire de la ville de Rillieux-la-pape" --- Spacejunk Lyon
------
We put on our Production Boots to meet this beautiful artwork with a multi-projector setup from the window of the neighbouring building.
As the artists of Tyxna painted with paints this masterpiece over a surface of a 10 storey building in Rillieux-la-Pape; we were honoured by their trust in us to paint with light upon this grandiose beauty!
The Sound Design and Visual contents for the Inauguration were designed, developed and curated by Tyxna during their Art Residency; and it was a joy to work with such beautiful materials and to add Mosquito Massala contents and live mix for the evening!
The opening event was a celebration for the public as well as for the artists from the Festival and Art Residency. A Block Party at the base of the Fresque, was followed by the projection and live visuals for the soirée of 29 October 2022.

Mosquito Massala had the pleasure to work with Jean-Jacques Bénaily to create Two Visual Stories for Two Musical Masterpieces performed at the Conservatoire du Grand Chalon in January 2020. Viktor Furiani and Samvida Nanda drove all over France (with a focus on Burgundy) collecting visual elements of Architecture through Photography; and re-imagined and further animated these elements as breathing and growing mandalas to interact and interpret the live musical performances.
This was achieved through the exploring of Architecture through Video Feedback (a Generative Digital Art Process which observes the interactions and movements of light and generates mathematical fractal and cellular forms).
Event Programme :

FutureFemaleSounds + Boxout.fm + DanishCultureIndia
By mosquitomassala | On 26/11/2021
In October 2020, Mosquito Massala had the pleasure to create cinematic VJ Mixes for DJ Phiona, DJ Lush Lata, DJ Ishani, DJ Sara Vita for the epic online event organised by a collaboration across Boxout.FM, Future Female Sounds and Danish Culture Institute India.
In a pandemic world, Mosquito Massala joined 2 midi-controllers and our favourite live software Resolume, and our always growing library of visuals; to create a series of visual mixes of storytelling to interpret the DJ sets through themes of Dance, Nature, Cinema, Technology and Travel (and some love for Halloween)! Below are some short snippets from the live show.
ABOUT DIGITAL DANCEFLOORS: A strong partnership between three wholly unique players - Boxout FM, Future Female Sounds, and the Danish Cultural Institute in India, that serves to reinforce the Denmark-India musical relationship in these unprecedented times.

VJ SAMVIDA [India/France]: Samvida used to be inspired by stories until she realized a storyteller made them so. Then she began to be inspired by storytellers. Collecting materials from across the world, and exploring various processes of Design, Filmmaking and Visual Jockeying, she constantly questions the relationship of form and content; and experiments to create canvases of storytelling through multi-disciplinary art forms. Her practice extends to projection mapping and scripting animations of light and impressions of culture. She specialises in brewing visuals live, and in creating in-situ Installation Artworks. Samvida is part of the Indo-French Art Collective, The Mosquito Massala. She is also Co-Founder/Co-Director of Sandscape; a series of immersive Art Residencies and Festivals which take place in Jaisalmer, and in the dunes of the Thar Desert. Amongst other things, she loves cinematography, travelling, impressionist art, making origami birds, writing screenplays, and writing about herself in the third person.

DJ PHIONA: Phiona Swanson (aka DJ Phiona) is an International DJ and Model who’s musical journey includes sets at celebrity functions, the hottest nightclubs around the world, music video appearances, and features at high-profile events. Born in New York to Jamaican and Swedish parents, Phiona was constantly around different sounds. Her musical influence grew when the family moved to Florida. Described as fun and free-spirited, you can hear the same when she deejays. Her main goal is to “spread good vibes” just like music does.

LUSH LATA (IN): A curious mix of old school hip hop, beats, monologues, and trap pack a punch with Lush Lata’s set, that borrows from the notion that there is calm before a storm. Aligning this with moods that drop low only to rise high, Lush Lata places her artistic explorations in the interstices of the common shebang.

DJ ISHANI [IN]: Ishani’s unique style typically mixes old school and new school hip-hop and has cleverly merged fans of both styles in way not seen hitherto. She has held residencies at many Mumbai nightclubs including Purple Haze Lounge and at Zenzi (Bandra), Ibar etc. while also being endorsed by nominations from VH1 Sound Nation Awards (2014) and MyFavDJ Awards. With a spin on classic hip-hop, you’ll be singing and dancing along as DJ Ishani goes back in time to some classic selections alongside some new certified bangers. Her set at the Wild City BBQ is still discussed heavily for a reason.

SARA VITA (DK): Sara Vita mixes music from a wide range of genres, from sunny house and r&b to broken techno and deep house in a dynamic set - selected for the time and place. She has played all types of venues in Copenhagen from Bakken in Kødbyen to Spillestedet Stengade and Culture Box and has the monthly show Baby on Deck on MMH Radio. Her goal is to keep the atmosphere magical and the people listening - and dancing.

Media Buddhi - LOGO Concept and Design 2020
By mosquitomassala | On 26/11/2021 | In Visual Communication
Mosquito Massala had the pleasure to work with the journalist H. R. Venkatesh
to conceptualise and create the Multi-Lingual Logo for his project Media Buddhi.
The Logo was further animated by Sidharth Pratap Singh and is featured in the videos and other visual communication around the project.
"On BOOM's digital literacy program, we invite guest speakers to discuss the most pressing issues with digital media usage, digital exposure for children, breaking down information bias and teach everyone to fact check fake news, polarizing news and dog whistles for themselves. Let's create a world that is safer for everyone." - Media Buddhi
Videos Link at:
Our various approaches into the linguistic and text explorations led us to certain observations and iterations:
- A friendly, Round, Stable, Organic Typography
-latin alphabet referencing to local alphabets
-Medium+ spacing to give space to breathe and time to think (i.e. not oppressive, no overcrowding. For example, can colour create this clarity if letters are too close by. )
-witty ways of visually referencing the diversity and culture of India, and opening the conversation to regional language speakers.
-to identify one's own language in all the languages.
-option of incorporating Boom logo colour (red) into Media Buddhi to create the connection across both entities.
-to make a vector format so that the logo can be shown clearly across all platforms of print and web.
